Save BIG on your next cruise
A standard 7-day cruise can cost anywhere between $800 – $1400 per person from anywhere between interior cabins to balcony cabins. Here are a couple of tips you can use to save 50%-80% on your next cruise.
When you take your cruise determines how much it will cost
For a calendar year, there are high demands and low demand times for cruises. During high demand time, prices are at it’s highest, so the key to book the cheapest cruise is during low demand times.
Avoid high demand seasons: June – August
Its apparent why this time period is the highest demand time for cruises. Families love to take cruises, and this time period is school vacation. This is also the period for the best weather, which means a slimmer chance of bad weather on those beautiful beaches at cruise ports. People are willing to pay top dollar to have their family enjoy the cruise experience. If you single, don’t have kids, or just simply want to avoid spend a hefty amount for a cruise, avoid booking during high demand seasons.
Book during low demand season: September – November
September is when the kids go back to school, which eliminates a large amount of family vacations being booked around this time. Business for Cruises are slow around this time, which forces them to discount their prices 20%-40%. There are some who believe the reason why it’s cheaper to cruise during this period is because of hurricane season. Hurricane season for the Caribbean and southern america is from June – November, which starts at the beginning of high demand season.
Book last minute Cruises
When a cruise date is nearing, the cruise companies assess the amount of empty cabins. They then drop the prices even more to get them occupied, which can save you 40%-80% when you book your cruise. Book your cruise between 30-45 days before the sail date. Another thing you can do to save even more money is to not book an assigned cabin. When booking, choose the “guaranteed” cabin type you want. That will place you in the best available cabin at the time of booking. There are some people who prefer to be place on higher floors and towards the front of the boat. If your picky, keep in mind that it will cost you a little extra for you to choose your cabin location.
